50 years ago, Richard Sapper designed the “Tizio” lamp for Artemide, creating a prime example of functionality, balance and expressive minimalism. His design motto was clear: he needed a logical solution to a problem.
He described himself as a messy person and needed a light fixture that took up as little space as possible for his full desk. As a result, he developed the ingenious desk lamp with the long swivel arm, which illuminates the entire workplace.
To mark the anniversary, Artemide introduces the lamp in red. A colour that, by the way, appears more often in Richard Sapper’s designs. The luminaire is optionally available with a halogen or LED bulb.
