The kitchen was planned and implemented by kitchen specialist Suna Arslan from the kitchen studio, Küchen su dio, who, as an experienced kitchen planner, has combined vision and expertise and reflected them in Ms. Sen’s new dream kitchen.
We were able to experience the kitchen on site and learned everything about the planning of Mrs. Arslan and Mrs. Sen during a freshly cooked meal with an enjoyable aperitif.

Elegant, individual and stylish, Mrs. Sen’s new kitchen shines in the newly moved apartment, which inspires with unique details. “I couldn’t be happier with the new kitchen. I like to spend time here and think to myself every time how beautiful the result turned out. Ms. Arslan took up my wishes perfectly and reflected them with the successful kitchen planning,” Ms. Sen tells us.
The focus for the customer was primarily on design and high-quality aesthetics. As an open-plan kitchen-living room, the colours and materials used should also be reflected in the rest of the living space, but the kitchen should still be highlighted as a separate area. That’s why dark fronts were chosen for the design of the tall units, which contrast with the wood-look kitchen island with a light-coloured worktop made of the high-quality and particularly durable material Dekton. Naturalness was the motto here, that with natural-looking materials such as wood or stone, they fit perfectly with the surrounding wooden wall and living space. “Especially for open kitchens, kitchen islands are a great solution to visually combine cooking and living and still create an outstanding highlight,” Ms. Arslan tells us about her ideas for kitchen planning.
Radiantly beautiful: Refined with mirrors and bronze foil
If you think of decorating rooms with mirrors when furnishing rooms, you probably don’t think of the kitchen as a living space. However, the fact that the two components fit together in perfection is shown by Mrs. Sen’s dream kitchen. As a cladding of the side wall and element between the display cabinets, the mirrors in stylish antique glass add depth to the room and create a unique play of light in harmony with the indirect lighting and the chandelier above the kitchen island.
“The special feature is that not just a kitchen was planned here, but a complete feeling of space was created,” reports the kitchen planner. “I like to break through familiar planning patterns with creativity in order to create unique rooms that fit perfectly with my customers. Ms. Sen had gotten inspiration online in advance and had the desire to reproduce the elegant and design-oriented atmosphere of large hotel lobbies. Based on these inspirations and wishes, I developed the idea of the mirrors and integrated it into the planning.” An idea that inspires: “Since the mirrors were only installed after the kitchen had been installed, there was an obvious before-and-after effect. The mirrors have changed the entire room by another 180 degrees and created exactly the desired atmosphere,” says Ms. Sen. happily.
Another detail that represents the individuality of the kitchen is the interior of the display cabinets. Covered with bronze foil, this creates a special elegance that additionally picks up on the mirror effect. “This is where I store my favorite items, which bring even more cosiness and well-being to the kitchen. Because in addition to all the functions and possibilities that the kitchen brings with it, it is above all intended for life,” says the happy customer, describing the result.
Harmonious unity: Hide door to utility room
A special feature that is not visible at first glance is the hidden passage in the tall cabinet wall. Here is a door that leads into the utility room. “In order not to interrupt the elegant and modern aesthetics of the kitchen and to create a uniform image, my recommendation was to plan the cabinet over the door as well, so that the passageway could simply be hidden behind it. In addition, the cabinet was planned to be ceiling-high and individually adapted with add-on modules,” says Ms. Arslan.
Also well thought-out in terms of functionality
In addition to the aesthetics of a kitchen, functionality also plays a major role, which is reflected in elements such as the integrated sockets in the kitchen niche or worktop, the high-built oven and the circumferential storage space along the kitchen island. When selecting the equipment, Ms. Sen had the main demand for solid quality and relied on Ms. Arslan’s recommendations on this basis. “Only as far as the extractor hood is concerned, I wanted an extractor solution integrated in the hob. So it was possible to dispense with a large extractor hood and use the space above the kitchen island for the chandelier,” Ms. Sen tells us.
Another component of the functionality is the Quooker functional faucet, which, in addition to its innovative possibilities, also impresses as a stylish eye-catcher and its brass design fits perfectly with the mirrors and lighting.
Breaking through conventions, thinking creatively and implementing what you like: a kitchen that inspires with creativity and individuality and captivates in harmony with design and function. This result can be toasted with joy.
