Wellness with hops
Once a simple inn, the Zettl-Feldmann family has transformed the house into a stylish wellness temple over the last 70 years. The Eisvogel spa area on 1,600 square metres is geared towards relaxation from head to toe: The bathhouse with heated swimming pool, sauna area including brine steam bath, bio, infrared and Finnish saunas as well as stylish relaxation rooms provides wellness delights and freshness kicks.
When the sun is shining and the weather is warm, the loungers in the green garden invite you to take a physical and mental break – with a view of the Schwefelbach stream and the hotel’s own chapel. The healing sulphur water – one of the three remedies of the spa – is used in treatments in the Kingfisher Spa, but can also be tapped directly from the drinking fountain in the wellness area. A treat for joints and skin! When it comes to wellness, the Hotel Eisvogel has earned a special reputation. Hops not only shape the Lower Bavarian landscape around the kingfisher, they are also used as the “fourth remedy” in the Eisvogel Spa. For example, with a sparkling beer bath or an aromatically scented hop oil massage. Not only does it feel good, it’s also healthy. Because the calming ingredients of the medicinal plant help to relax and switch off. And the “green gold” is always good for the skin.
With soft colours, high-quality fabrics and woods as well as spacious, high-ceilinged rooms, the Hotel Eisvogel looks like a luxurious country house. The hotel has 58 rooms with ten different categories. Style and naturalness harmonize perfectly. The hosts of the wellness and pleasure hotel Der Eisvogel spoil you warmly and very personally, always mindful of natural, authentic ingredients, which also leave their special taste in the multi-award-winning country house cuisine of the Eisvogel Restaurant. Much of it comes from the Feldmann Hof, which is also run by the hoteliers family. It doesn’t get much more sustainable than that.
By the way: the hotel’s namesake is the shimmering blue kingfisher, whose colours are reflected in the new rooms and suites. With a bit of luck and patience, this beautiful bird can be spotted in the kingfisher’s garden.
In addition to pampering wellness and enjoyment experiences, the region in and around Bad Gögging offers plenty to discover and explore with impressive hop gardens, idyllic Danube floodplains and numerous cycling and hiking trails. Special themed trails such as the hop circuit or the Roman tour are dedicated to cultivated plants and also to the history of Bad Gögging.
