Goals, successes and memories that have shaped the history of Ferrari.
The Cavallino is a symbol, witness and protagonist of Ferrari’s history, its close ties to the site, the relationships and friendships that have developed over time, the celebrations and the boldest challenges that the Scuderia has taken on from the very beginning. This mission began when Enzo Ferrari acquired the small farmhouse, which initially served as the company canteen and was officially named Ristorante Cavallino in 1950, together with the land on which the factory stands.

From then until today, the rooms of this historic building, which has preserved and developed its outstanding identity, have witnessed an extraordinary succession of events and occurrences that have never been forgotten and are unforgettable. An endless cycle of dreams and successes that have inspired the powerful and far-sighted vision of founder Enzo Ferrari transcends the boundaries of nostalgic memory to offer a new dimension of conviviality and sharing, open to admirers and lovers of the Cavallino Rampante as well as all other guests.
This is where the engineer Ferrari liked to come for lunch with his guests, friends and closest colleagues, enjoying a simple meal and only at weekends a glass of wine in front of the screen showing the Formula 1 Grand Prix. Illustrious personalities such as Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands, Princess Liliana de Réthy of Belgium and three-time world champion driver Jackie Stewart were once seated at the tables, as were all the drivers and technicians who have been part of Team Ferrari over the decades.
It was here that Bernie Ecclestone and Jean-Marie Balestre signed Formula 1’s first Concorde Agreement in 1981. In 1987, they returned to discuss the new racing rules with Enzo Ferrari. At the end of this meeting, they told him: “Mr Ferrari, write these rules yourself.”
Massimo Bottura – A new interpretation of Modena cuisine
At Cavallino, the star chef from Modena realises his vision of Italian tradition, the history and identity of the region in a contemporary interpretation.

Massimo Bottura’s career began in 1986 when he took over the Trattoria del Campazzo on the outskirts of Modena, at a time when he was devoting himself to binary experiments between regional Italian recipes and the results of his training with French chef Georges Coigny. After long spells in Monte Carlo and on the Costa Brava, alongside Alain Ducasse at Le Louis XV and Ferran Adria in the kitchen of El Bulli, he returned to Italy. There he followed his own path of reinterpreting tradition, always in the spirit of innovation and constant creative influence.
“The Cavallino’s cuisine is good and healthy and there is a story behind every dish. It’s a cuisine that you can’t refuse.” – Massimo Bottura
