Ich höre, also bin ich: Till Brönners Playlist 1
Next week, Till Brönner will perform at the Jazzfest in Bonn – and we are curious to see what the virtuoso jazz trumpeter and photographer will play there. But at least as interesting is what the musician himself hears. And that's what he told us exclusively.

“Music is one thing above all: pure emotion”

says jazz trumpeter Till Brönner. And his definition of bad music, which kind of follows on from it. It is, in fact,

“Music that obviously follows trends or is a bad copy of the original – I always get dull teeth.”

Luckily, the self-confident musician proves bite and originality not only in his albums, but also in his personal playlist. And although, according to his own statement, he listens to very different genres, he can’t deny his home in jazz. His favorites?

We bring original works from the pen of great musicians to our ears. Among them: Al Jarreau, Tony Bennett and Chet Baker. The only question that remains is what Brönner is listening to.

Till Brönner

“It’s very difficult for me to ignore the theory part of music. Eventually, I realized that and I began to free myself from all the things I’m able to hear, so that I can really only test music for its effect.”

he says. Or to sum it up briefly: he only listens to the music – and we just join in.
