The Weissenhof Estate is considered a symbol of the Bauhaus era and brings together renowned modernist architects. The Weissenhof Museum is located in one of the former residential buildings of the Weissenhof estate. It is located in a semi-detached house designed by Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret. Inside the museum, one of the halves of the house has been faithfully restored. Visitors can experience Le Corbusier’s vision of modern architecture and interior design.
From the convertible, multifunctional living space to the kitchen, the Weissenhof Museum offers an insight into Le Corbusier’s ideals. In 2016, the semi-detached house was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with the adjacent single-family home by Le Corbusier and 16 other ensembles by the architect. This makes it one of the seven World Heritage Sites in Baden-Württemberg.
