If you are looking for an interesting classic from the 1960s, you will find a wonderful car in the form of the Flaminia GTL 3C 2.8 Touring at the Oldtimer Galerie Toffen.

The Flaminia cannot be compared to the Lancias from the Fiat era. At that time, the workmanship was just as elaborate as that of contemporary Maserati, Ferrari or Jaguar. The second variant, offered between spring 1959 and mid-1967, was built by Carrozzeria Touring, recognizable by the designation GT (=Gran Turismo). The shape is based on that of the Maserati 3500 GT. Basically, this car, like the PF coupe, has the technical components from the sedan. Touring’s signature Superleggera construction, a body with an aluminum-clad tubular steel frame, resulted in a 200 kg reduction in weight. The kerb weight of the Touring Coupé was thus only 1337 kg. Due to the shortened wheelbase to 2520 mm and the reduced frontal area, driving performance and road holding improved. By the standards of the time, the GTL was not a cheap car at at least 29,850 DM. A leather upholstery cost another DM 510 extra.

IN ITALY, THE LANCIA WAS CONSIDERED THE FERRARI OF THE MIDDLE CLASS.

The car has been continuously developed. As with the Pininfarina Coupé, the Touring benefited from the evolution of the engines. The first series (Type 824) was initially available with a carburettor and 87 kW (119 hp), while the second series (Type 826) was equipped with a 2.8-litre engine with 110 kW (150 hp) from autumn 1963. Only a few examples of the Flaminia Touring were built. Nevertheless, a Lancia Flaminia GTL 3C 2.8 Touring can often be found at classic car events, but really good cars are rare here.
