With an output of 782 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque – combined with an all-electric range of 80 km and a CO2 value (according to WLTP) of less than 50 g/km – the new Continental GT Speed represents a groundbreaking step for Bentley. Not only is it the most powerful Bentley road car in the company’s 105-year history, but its launch also marks an important milestone in Bentley’s Beyond100 journey to becoming the market leader in sustainable luxury mobility, with the availability of a plug-in powertrain for all model ranges. Of course, he does not renounce the handcrafted luxury and exceptional materials that characterize all Bentleys.
The new Continental GT Speed – the most powerful Bentley ever – will be launched on June 25 at 17:00 CEST.
The fourth generation of the Continental GT is the first Bentley with the new Ultra Performance Hybrid drive with 782 hp and 1,000 Nm.
80 km electric range and CO2 emission value according to WLTP of less than 50 g/km.
335 km/h top speed, evidenced by the setting of the unofficial “underwater speed record” in the longest and deepest underwater road tunnel in the world.
Thanks to the latest chassis technologies – including active all-wheel drive with torque vectoring, all-wheel steering, electronic limited-slip differential, active 48-volt roll stabilisation and new, advanced two-valve shock absorbers – the new addition is the most outstanding Bentley in terms of driving dynamics of all time and the first “everyday super sports car” in this segment. A revised design and up-to-date technologies add the finishing touches to the latest generation of this automobile, making it the perfect embodiment of a modern Bentley.
As a testament to its capabilities, Bentley will also announce on June 25 that the new Continental GT Speed has recently set an unofficial “underwater speed record”. In the process, it reached a top speed of 335 km/h in the longest submarine road tunnel and the world’s deepest tunnel – the Ryfylke Tunnel in Norway. A film showing the journey through the tunnel will be released parallel to the market launch.
The Continental GT, introduced in 2002, marked the beginning of Bentley’s rebirth. The vehicle was to fundamentally change the company, trigger a tenfold increase in sales and reshape Bentley in the modern era.
The second-generation Continental GT was unveiled in Paris in 2010 – orders were accepted from October of the same year, with deliveries starting in early 2011. The second generation came on the market with the W12 engine, which was supplemented by a new 4.0-liter V8 variant in 2012. In 2018, the third generation followed, which is based on a new, specially developed platform. The Continental GT received a new engine, a new chassis, a new electric architecture, new technologies and a new interior and exterior design. The vehicle thus set new standards for the now highly competitive luxury GT sector.
